OUR METHOD

Our Approach to Foundation Learning

At Dominion Spring International School, our Foundation Classes are designed for children in Foundation 1 to Foundation 3, which are equivalent to Nursery 1 to Nursery 3 in many schools. These are very important years where children begin to develop stronger learning habits, greater independence, and the confidence to express what they know.

Our classrooms are neat, spacious, colorful, and carefully arranged to support focused learning while still allowing children to explore and enjoy their environment. We create a welcoming space where pupils feel comfortable, secure, and excited to learn each day.

At this stage, children begin learning how to properly hold and control their pencils as they form letters, numbers, shapes, and simple patterns with confidence. Through guided practice and patient support, we help pupils develop strong handwriting skills and the fine motor coordination needed for academic success.

We teach through structured lessons that include phonics, early reading, writing exercises, number work, creative drawing, practical activities, songs, storytelling, and interactive classroom tasks. Lessons are carefully planned to match each child’s developmental stage and make learning clear, engaging, and enjoyable.

Our teachers give close attention to every child, helping them build concentration, listening skills, confidence, creativity, and independent thinking. We encourage pupils to ask questions, solve simple problems, participate actively, and develop positive classroom habits that prepare them for Basic education.

At Dominion Spring International School, we believe the Foundation years shape a child’s future learning journey. That is why we provide a caring and stimulating environment where every child is guided to grow academically, socially, and confidently into the next stage of excellence.
