At Dominion Spring International School, we proudly observe Swallow Day once every term. On this special day, pupils bring traditional swallow meals such as fufu, eba, garri, pounded yam, amala, semo, and other healthy local Swallow foods for lunch. Swallow foods are an important part of African culture and are commonly enjoyed with nutritious soups and vegetables.
Swallow Day helps children appreciate and preserve our rich cultural heritage while learning healthy eating habits from an early age. Our pupils enjoy sharing meals, learning about different local foods, and building confidence in their cultural identity. We encourage healthy traditional meals instead of depending only on processed foods and noodles with little nutritional value.
At DSIS, learning goes beyond books. Activities like Swallow Day create joyful memories, teach good values, promote healthy living, and help children grow with pride in their culture. These are some of the beautiful experiences your child will enjoy when you register with us.
